We Did It!
We’re thrilled to announce that we have met our fundraising target! We have raised £70,000 from a combination of a substantial grant from the Veolia Environmental Trust and donations from the generous local community and the project has sufficient funds to proceed. Thank you, to everyone who donated and supported us and the many people who completed our surveys. Watch this space for more info and updates!
Who We Are
Clarence Play is a local charity and community group that’s aiming to raise money to help redesign and rebuild the playground at Clarence Park, St Albans.
The group was set up by a team of passionate local residents, with the support of St Albans District Council, with an ambition to create a fun, innovative and inspirational play area for all children in St Albans.
What We Aim To Do
Clarence playground is much loved by so many children and adults alike. Set in the beautiful grounds of Clarence Park, it’s used throughout the year, come rain or shine, giving the children of St. Albans hours of fun whether building sandcastles in the sandpit, honing their skills on the monkey bars or travelling somewhere wonderful on the horse and cart.
The equipment in the playground is over 20 years old and has provided thousands of hours of fun for thousands of children. However it’s now in need of updating, so that it continues to provide children the much needed outdoor space to learn, have fun, make friends and let their imagination grow.
We also want to build a play space that can be accessed by all, an inclusive play area for everyone. The play area will be designed by you and your children.
