Who We Are
Clarence Play is a local charity and community group that’s aiming to raise money to help redesign and rebuild the playground at Clarence Park, St Albans.
The group was set up by a team of passionate local residents, with the support of St Albans District Council, with an ambition to create a fun, innovative and inspirational play area for all children in St Albans.
What We Aim To Do
Clarence playground is much loved by so many children and adults alike. Set in the beautiful grounds of Clarence Park, it’s used throughout the year, come rain or shine, giving the children of St. Albans hours of fun whether building sandcastles in the sandpit, honing their skills on the monkey bars or travelling somewhere wonderful on the horse and cart.
The equipment in the playground is over 20 years old and has provided thousands of hours of fun for thousands of children. However it’s now in need of updating, so that it continues to provide children the much needed outdoor space to learn, have fun, make friends and let their imagination grow.
We also want to build a play space that can be accessed by all, an inclusive play area for everyone. The play area will be designed by you and your children.
Our objective is to raise money to create an entirely new and exciting playground that will provide children with a space to learn, explore and play.
We aim to raise £70,000 to add to the budget provided by St Albans District Council to reach the target of £220,000 to help redesign and rebuild the playground.
